E. B. BERGER INCORPORATED was incorporated in the State of Utah on August 31, 1977.  It is the outgrowth of a family business dating back to 1925 started by Benjamin Berger, father of Elmer B. Berger.  Elmer Berger joined the company as a partner in 1947. The business operated as a partnership until 1966 when Benjamin Berger retired and Elmer became the sole proprietor. David B. Berger has been the President of the Corporation since 1985 and has been active in the business for all of his working life.

     The Company is best known for its work in application stucco, exterior insulated finish systems (EIFS) and sprayed on fireproofing to a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential construction uses.  In response to desired growth and changing markets, it has diversified its product lines into ceramic tile, special coatings, metal stud framing, drywall, firestopping, acoustic tile and marble/natural stone installations. 

In the spring of 2003 the company began putting additional emphasis on our residential special coating market.  With commercial construction lagging behind residential expansion the company set out to establish itself as residential deck coating specialists. In response to our customers requests, we now include our most recent product line, ornamental iron.  This allows for one stop shopping for all your exterior deck needs.  An outside saleperson is now on staff to service this residential market.

In 2003 the company made a concentrated effort to set ourselves apart from other EIFS subcontractors.  Due to recent installation problems of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems, being able to acquire general liability insurance became very difficult.  In order to better serve our customers and provide them with the insurance they request, our company became the first EIFSMART contractor in the state of Utah. Project managers and mechanics have and are currently attending the specialized education.

The EIFSMART distinction is given by the Association of the Walls and Ceiling Industry International (AWCI) to companies that have demonstrated a commitment to quality workmanship and procedures.  We have installers who have attended specialized education in the application and inspection of Exterior Insulation & Finish Systems and have demonstrated acquired knowledge by passing an objective written examination. Because of the recent problems in the EIFS industry, we think a concentrated marketing effort regarding our certification presents an exceptional opportunity to expand this division of the company.  Educating our customers about quality control and insurance exclusions will improve our market share.

Our headquarters are located in Salt Lake City, Utah in a state-of-the-art, fully computerized facility, designed to help us manage our many divisions with the professionalism and efficiency this business demands.

With an employee base of 150 service-oriented people, we can assure you that your job will receive the attention it deserves. For instance, we assign experienced field superintendents to provide essential coordination between all of the sub-trades involved in each project.

From the bidding process through completion of your project, our staff is available to give you immediate attention. They can accommodate any unique technical, administrative or, legal needs you might have, including customized billing schedules.

E.B. Berger maintains and enforces a written safety plan and conducts pre-employment, and random drug testing of all employees.

We also offer services in value engineering helping you evaluate your plans and come up with cost-saving ideas before actual Construction begins, this is particularly beneficial during a design-build process.
